About Jim
Jim Danas is a member of the Australian PGA and has over 20 years experience in the golf industry.
At his previous club, he was the Head Teaching Professional and Junior Coordinator. In this role Jim developed a very successful junior golf academy which included over 100 regular participants per week as well as a large individual client base.
Jim's passion for golf started at the age of 14 when his grandfather purchased him a 5-iron and a driver when a new golf course opened near his home. With his clubs in hand, he went to have a look and ended up with an "after school" job of collecting range balls. This was the beginning of his golf career.....
From that day on, his love for the game was instilled, developing into Jim representing the state as a member of the Junior State Team.
In 2001 he completed his PGA Traineeship but rather than tour, his passion was for teaching and developing junior golf.
His teaching method uses the fundamentals of the golf swing and applies them to the individuals requirements.
Jim's contribution to junior golf lead to him assisting The Western Australian Department of Education in the development of their Specialised Sports Program for golf.
He is also the Director/Founder of Golf It Up which is a program designed to promote the game of golf in children using specialised equipment. His program has been recognized and incorporated into the Australian Sports Commissions "Active After School" program..
He provides tuition to a number of schools in the Northern Suburbs, some of which include Quinns Baptist College, Peter Moyes Anglican Community College, Mindarie Senior College, St Stephens School and St Andrews Primary School.
Included in Jim’s repertoire of skills, is expertise in club repairs and club fitting as well as a vast knowledge in equipment specifications and technology.
